Nazir Junior, the former national Test cricketer and umpire, has passed away after a week of severe illness. He was receiving treatment at a local hospital in Lahore.
Nazir Junior represented Pakistan in 14 Test matches and 4 One Day Internationals (ODIs), claiming a total of 37 wickets throughout his career. Notably, he was the first spinner to take the most wickets in the first innings of his debut Test for Pakistan, achieving an impressive seven wickets.
In addition to his playing career, Nazir Junior also served as an umpire, officiating in 15 ODIs and 5 Test matches. His contributions to cricket in Pakistan have left a lasting legacy, and he will be remembered fondly by fans and fellow cricketers alike.
